After School Care

Little Apples Turns 5 Years Old – April 2021

Really good After School Clubs don’t just happen… they take time, effort and dedication not only just from the enthusiastic staff but also the parents and children with whom strong bonds need to be formed.

So five years on… that is what has happened… a really good After School Club… Little Apples celebrates its 5th birthday with a week long celebration of fun and games (but don’t we do that everyday anyway?).

Little Apples has grown from strength to strength during the past five years starting with only a few children in the early days to the lively, busy place it is today. Our success lies in our belief that After School is not just a time waiting for Mum and Dad to finish work, but a time to play, explore and develop. So if your child ever says they are bored or you worry about the amount of time they spend in front of a screen… sign up for a few nights of being active, creative and sociable.

OFSTED Summary of Little Apples – 2018

Ofsted For Little Apples Nov 2018

Little Apples after-school club, have limited availability for 1 hour ad-hoc sessions @ £4.00 per hour. To book in please contact Tracey on 07708408701.

‘Little Apples’ After School Club is a separate organisation to the school. It is led by Tracey Brown, who is assisted by Claire Lamley (who also works in the school’s Reception Class). It was awarded the highest Food Hygiene rating of 5 (April 2016) and has recently been accredited by OFSTED. From September 2016 it will be open until the later time of 6pm.

Tracey has worked with children for 24 years and has run a local nursery including an after school club for the last 11 years. She was aware of the local areas need for high quality after school provision and was extremely pleased when Mr Jenkinson agreed to allow her to set up Little Apples at Highgate Primary School.

Due to the time it takes for Ofsted to register new settings (and the need for care to be set up quickly), Little Apples will run for 2 hours per day (maximum allowed for unregistered settings) from 11th April 2016 whilst awaiting Ofsted registration. Once this has happened we will go to 3 hours per day. We will notify parents as soon as this is done.

The hourly rate will be £4.00 per hour and the session will be 3.10-6pm (after Ofsted registration). This includes the collection, activities/care and light tea.

Activities have included a range of craft activities, den building, gardening and a special water extravaganza (including a water slide).

There will be some provision for ‘as and when’ care, but we would need to take preference for a permanent booking.

If you are interested please call Tracey Brown on 07708408701 or email littleapples2016@gmail.com

While the school does not organise the after school care, we will be happy to pass on details to parents so you can organise this to suit your needs.
